Apple Watch Ultra and AirPods Pro (2nd generation) go on sale in India

Last week, Apple launched iPhone 14, 14 Pro along with Watch Series 8 and Watch SE (2nd generation) in India. Now Apple fans can buy the high-end Watch Ultra and the new AirPods Pro (2nd generation).

The new Watch Ultra is the most advanced and durable Apple Watch yet. This is an all-weather smartwatch with military grade MIL-STD 810H tested to work in extreme weather conditions and also withstand water pressure up to 100 meters, and even comes with EN13319 certification, a depth gauge with a water temperature sensor. It can work in extreme environmental conditions from -20 degrees Celsius to 55 degrees Celsius.

It has a massive Always-On Retina LTPO OLED display with 2,000 nits of brightness and comes in a 49mm titanium body. On the front, it has a flat sapphire crystal display with edge protection. It also has IP6X dustproof certifications and users can customize the action button, which sits next to the Digital Crown.

It is powered by Apple S8 64-bit dual-core processor, W3 wireless chipset and U1 ultra-wideband. Apple Watch Ultra uses two new motion sensors and an advanced sensor fusion algorithm to detect serious car crashes.

Moreover, on a single charge, Apple Watch Ultra can easily last for 36 hours and if you enable low power mode and other low power settings, it can last for sixty hours. This is unprecedented in the entire Watch Series range since the first model (2015). It costs Rs 89,900.

On the other hand, the new AirPods Pro sport an updated charging case design and include a lanyard loop.

AirPods Pro feature a next-generation H2 processor, which promises to deliver a great acoustic experience and cancels up to twice as much noise as the previous generation AirPods Pro. With a new low-distortion audio driver and custom amplifier, AirPods Pro can deliver richer bass and crystal-clear sound across a wider frequency range. For the first time, Apple will also offer a new additional ear tip so that more people can enjoy a better user experience on AirPods Pro.

With the Transparency mode, the user can listen to the outside world and also music or answer a call. This is convenient for crossing a road or traveling in a public transport vehicle such as a bus or metro/metro while abroad and being able to listen to upcoming destination announcements.

It also supports Spatial Audio to deliver an immersive listening experience. With this feature, users can perceive sound individually, depending on the size and shape of their head and ears.

The new AirPods Pro promises to deliver almost six hours of listening time with ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) enabled, which is an hour and a half more listening time than the first iteration. And, the charging case can charge AirPods Pro four more times, which means it can last for 30 hours.

The headphones, case and retail box are produced using an eco-friendly manufacturing process and even the materials are responsibly sourced. Inside, some of the components such as the magnets are made from 100% recycled rare earth elements, for the first time – 100% recycled gold in the plating of several circuit boards.

The case also uses 100% recycled tin in the main motherboard solder and 100% recycled aluminum in the hinge. AirPods Pro are free of potentially harmful substances such as mercury, BFRs, PVC and beryllium.

Additionally, the redesigned packaging has ensured that there is no longer any need for outer plastic packaging, and 90% or more of the packaging is made from fiber-based materials. It costs Rs 26,900.

On Apple India online store, potential buyers get engravings such as emojis, numbers, special characters, names and words in English and seven regional languages: Kannada, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati and Telugu. Apple offers a free burning service in India.
