DJI online store no longer has Mavic 2 drones ahead of Mavic 3 launch

DJI’s US online store got rid of everyday Mavic 2 series inventory ahead of the launch of the long-awaited Mavic 3 prosuming drone.

If you were to go to the DJI online store now to get a Mavic 2, you would have to settle for an “In Stock Recall”. DJI just doesn’t have any Mavic 2 drones to offer – Pro or Zoom, with or without the smart controller.

Of course, you can leave your email address to be notified by DJI when inventory is replenished, but we won’t hold our breath for that.

We already know that the Mavic 3 launch event is slated for November 5th. So DJI’s manufacturing facilities are more than likely to be busy producing the new drone, which will feature a dual camera setup, omni-directional obstacle avoidance, and incredible true maximum flight time. 46 minutes.

There have also been other signs in the past that have indicated that Mavic 2 is nearing the end of its lifecycle. We first noticed the inventory issues in August, shortly after B&H Photo marked DJI Mavic 2 Pro as “discontinued” on its website.

A few weeks earlier, DJI OstiaLV leaker had shared that he had heard from retailers that the end was near:

And now we find that the drone is totally unavailable on the official DJI store.

Meanwhile, on Amazon, only limited quantities of the drone remain.

Interestingly, until the launch of Mavic 3, DJI was trying to push potential Mavic 2 customers to the Air 2S drone – both on its online store and through Amazon.

Says DJI:

With a 1 inch sensor, 5.4K video, MasterShots and more, DJI Air 2S is the ultimate all-in-one camera drone.

But let’s not forget that the Air 2S is a completely consumer-centric machine. So, for someone looking for a more professional drone – with a flexible aperture, for example – it makes more sense to wait a few weeks for the Mavic 3 to launch.
