All the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro colors you can buy

Google’s Pixel phones typically feature bright, flashy colors, but not this year. The Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are available in three shades each.

Google recently announced Pixel 7 and 7 Pro will each come in three colors that are noticeably toned down from last year’s options. Both new smartphones are packed with features and cut market prices for other notable flagships. The base Pixel 7 starts at $599, which is significantly cheaper than competing offerings from Apple and Samsung. The Pixel 7 Pro – Google’s top-end smartphone in 2022 – starts at just $899.

Along with affordable prices, the new Pixels offer deep integration with Google products and services. The Pixel series was late in the game and as such struggled to catch on among Android users. However, it can be argued that the Pixels are among the best Android phones because of their software integration. Since Google designs both Pixels and Android software, it can provide similar levels of optimization to Apple and iOS. Google is building its own ecosystem of products and services, and the Pixel is at the center of that effort.

The Pixel 7 Pro comes in three color choices – Hazel, Snow and Obsidian. The Hazel color is a light gray with a hint of green and a gold polished aluminum finish. The gold border runs around the exterior of the device and covers the camera bar on the back of the Pixel 7. The Snow color is a traditional white with a silver polished aluminum finish. Finally, the Obsidian color is a familiar gloss black and dark gray aluminum trim. Since the smartphone has a glass back, fingerprints are definitely an issue. The Obsidian color will show the most fingerprints of the three colors, with the lighter Hazel and Snow colors hiding smudges better.

On the other hand, the Pixel 7 offers three color options: citronella, snow and obsidian. The Snow and Obsidian colors are the same as the Pixel 7 Pro, but the trims on those models are different. The aluminum trim on the Pixel 7 isn’t polished, so it will look and feel slightly different than the Pixel 7 Pro. The Lemongrass colorway is by far the brightest and flashiest Pixel 7 color. It’s a pale yellow that has a hint of green from certain angles and is reminiscent of the pastel colors of older Pixel smartphones.

Pixels are generally designed to be fun devices, with bright colors to match. Last year, the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro featured a two-tone design with pastel color undertones. However, after facing criticism over the design of the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, Google opted for much more subdued color choices this year. All the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro models feature glass backs and a camera bar covered in polished aluminum, with more subdued color choices this time around.
