TL; DR

  • A new Xiaomi smartphone has passed through TENAA.
  • The device packs a 4K display and a 4,400mAh battery in a slim body.

Xiaomi is apparently gearing up for yet another phone launch, but this time around the device in question comes with specs from enthusiasts. A phone with model number 2109119BC recently passed TENAA (h / t GSMArena), showcasing its design and several key specifications.

Perhaps the most intriguing aspect is its display. The Xiaomi phone sports a 6.55-inch OLED display, which many of the company’s mid-range models have. However, the panel has a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160. It would be Xiaomi’s first smartphone with a 4K display, joining the Sony Xperia 1 III in this particular category.

But is this Xiaomi phone a real flagship? Well, the remaining specs are a bit too vague to confirm that. The Xiaomi phone uses an octa-core chipset with a clock of 2.4 GHz. It could be the Snapdragon 778G, a chipset we’ve seen in many recent mid-range Xiaomi phones, but it’s too early to say for sure. The phone also packs up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Additionally, a 64 MP main camera joins two 8 MP shooters at the rear.

Aesthetically, the phone’s design is reminiscent of the Xiaomi 10T Pro on the back, with a bold camera ring around the main sensor. Interestingly, there’s no noticeable selfie camera cutout on the front. The case of the phone is quite thin, similar to the recently launched 11 Lite NE 5G. It weighs 166 grams while measuring 158mm long, 71.5mm wide and just under 7mm thick. This body also contains a 4,400 mAh battery.

Other notable features include an “iris recognition†sensor and an under-display fingerprint sensor. The device lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD card slot.

Xiaomi 4K smartphone: what could it be?

It’s not immediately clear where this phone fits in Xiaomi’s pecking order. The chipset suggests it’s not targeting other flagships, but the 4K display isn’t something we’ve seen on mid-range phones.

But what do you think of the telephone? You like its list of specs and would you buy a Xiaomi phone with a 4K display? Vote in our poll above and let us know in the comments below.
