Two off-the-beaten-path Samsung phones updated to Android 12 with One UI 4 update
One UI 4 is ready for international version of Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and Chinese W22 5G
The Galaxy S10 Lite is equipped with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3200, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and an aspect ratio of 20: 9. The front and back panels are protected by Gorilla Glass 6. The global version is powered by the Exynos 990 which is built by Samsung Foundry using its 7nm process node and the US variant includes the Snapdragon 865 chipset, built by TSMC in using its 7nm node process.
The rear camera array includes a 12MP f / 1.8 main camera, a 64MP f / 2.0 telephoto camera with 3x hybrid optical zoom, a 12MP f / 2.2 ultra-wide camera, and a .3MP Time of Flight (ToF) depth sensor . The cameras include Leica optics and a front-facing 10MP selfie snapper.
The update to the special Chinese version of the foldable is being rolled out. A user interface was originally developed for large screens and with most of the operable elements placed near the bottom of the screen they can be reached by those with smaller hands.
Opening the device reveals a 7.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1768 x 2208 and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Under the hood you’ll find the Snapdragon 888 chipset made by Samsung Foundry using its node. process length of 5 nm. 33% more memory is found on the W22 5G which has 16 GB of RAM compared to 12 GB on the 12 GB of the Galaxy Z Fold 3. There is 256 GB of storage available.

The W22 5G does not come with Google Mobile Services (GMS), but this is normal in China where Google is a four letter word. Device owners can see if their update to One UI 4 is ready to install by going to Settings > Software update. Or, you can wait for the notification to arrive that says you’ve received the update.
