Smartphone brand realme GT 5G to shake up premium segment in India: CEO Madhav Sheth

While the price segment of Rs 30,000 to Rs 45,000 in India is the scene of fierce competition, smartphone brand Realme said on Tuesday that it would disrupt the high-end segment with the GT 5G series during of this quarter.

The company launched realme GT 5G in select markets in June, which features a 6.43-inch 120Hz Samsung Super AMOLED display and a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset.

“We are now poised to disrupt the premium segment with a true flagship experience. This quarter we will be introducing our flagship series to the Indian market – the realme GT 5G series. It is designed to be the ultimate device and embodies speed, cutting edge design and cutting edge technology, â€Madhav Sheth, vice president of realme and CEO of realme India and Europe, told IANS.

“The realme GT 5G features the most premium Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G processor at an unbeatable price with two-tone vegan leather, the result of months of R&D. We believe these great products will add to the adoption of 5G. in the Indian market, â€added Sheth.

The device houses a Sony 64MP triple camera with an all new night portrait mode and AI capabilities to deliver professional quality photos. It is one of the first devices to support Android 12 Beta 1.

“With the realme GT 5G series, we will officially enter the premium segment,†said Sheth, adding that the series is a “gift to Indian fans to start our new expedition after the three-year growth journeyâ€.

5G has already become a commercial reality in many parts of the world and is expected to materialize in India soon.

The handset ecosystem is also growing steadily, with many original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and chipset suppliers optimizing their resources for the development of 5G.

“realme has worked closely with chipset partners not only to make 5G support available, but also to improve processing capacity, AI compute capacity, etc. and provide early adopters a holistic experience across the segments, â€noted Sheth.

Currently, 90% of realme’s R&D resources have been converted to develop 5G technology products.

According to a Counterpoint Research report, realme was the # 1 5G smartphone brand with 23% share in Q2 2021.

“We have also launched the realme smart upgrade program to allow more users to get the 5G models of their choice at 70% of the cost. All of these will make 5G phones more accessible,†the official said. of realme.
