PUNTA GORDA – Former Calusa Bank Credit Manager in Charlotte County James Coalwell has joined Charlotte State Bank & Trust as Vice President of Commercial Lending.
Coalwell was most recently vice president of commercial loans for Centennial Bank in Charlotte County, according to his LinkedIn page. Prior to that, he was senior vice president and chief credit officer of Calusa Bank from 2007 to 2015, before Acheiva Credit Union acquired him.
A resident of Punta Gorda, Coalwell has also worked in the area of loans in the Lee County area and in his native Minnesota, according to a statement. “We are delighted that James is joining our lending team,” said Maryann Mize, senior credit manager at Charlotte State Bank & Trust, in the statement. “He has considerable skills and experience and also has a strong commitment to our community. “
Coalwell is a member of the Southwest Florida Workforce Development Board and a member of the board of directors of the Charlotte County Industrial Development Authority. He is also a member of the board of directors and two-term past president of the Charlotte County Economic Development Partnership.
Port Charlotte-based Charlotte State Bank & Trust, founded in 1987, had revenues of $ 22 million in 2019.
