A masked gunman carried out a series of armed robberies in Ottawa last week and police are hoping a security camera image can help them find the suspect.

The first flight was on Thursday, June 10, just before 10 p.m., in the 1700 block of Tenth Line Road. Two days later, the suspect struck again, robbing a business in the 3700 block of Strandherd Drive at around 11:40 p.m.

At midnight Sunday he robbed a store in the 1000 block of Teron Road, and on Monday he knocked twice: at 6 p.m. in the 400 block of Hazeldean Road, then 45 minutes later in the 3400 block of Carling Avenue.

Police say in each case he walked into the company and threatened an employee with a handgun while demanding money. There were no injuries.

Police said the suspect was a white male between five feet 10 inches and six feet tall and with a slim build. In each case, he wore an inside-out black baseball cap with the letter “B” on the front. He had a neck tucked up over his nose and tucked behind his head to cover his hair. He had a black hoodie with a Realtree logo, orange drawstrings and a camouflage hood. He wore dark jogging pants, gray sneakers with white soles, and carried a dark backpack in which he hid a black Glock-like pistol. The suspect spoke English, police said.

Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Theft Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5116. Anonymous reports can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at Crimestoppers.ca.
