Leigh loaned St Helens youngsters Josh Eaves and Matty Foster and Warrington, Nathan Roebuck and Tom Burnett.

The quartet will all be available for the Centurions’ pre-season game against Wolves on Friday, which is testimony from Chris Hill.

It was postponed for 24 hours to allow Leigh to put together a squad for the game, having suffered from injuries and periods of forced isolation within his squad.

Hooker Eaves has played for Leigh before, scoring four tries in eight appearances in 2019, and made three first-team appearances for the Saints, while back rower Foster made his Super League debut last year.

Outside full-backs Roebuck, 21, and Burnett, 18, join another Wolves player in Leigh, center Keanan Brand.

Coach John Duffy said: “Josh has played for us before and we know everything about him and what he will bring to the club.

“We looked at Matty towards the end of last season and the start of this one. They are two good, young and passionate Super League players who will add youth and enthusiasm and push for places in the squad and bring out the best in others.

“I watched Nathan last year in a very young Warrington side that was playing at Salford. Keanan Brand also played in this match. Nathan completed 17 carries and impressed as a large and powerful unit that will benefit from the experience he gets with us.

“Tom is a great athletic full-back who will add some youthful experience and hopefully have some playing time during his time with us as well.”

All four players are on an initial two-week loan agreement with the option to extend.
