The two tiffin bombs, hand grenades and three 9mm pistols recovered from three Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) militants were smuggled from drones that allegedly occurred in the Khalra region, where movements of a drone were noticed a few days ago.

Kanwarpal Singh, Kulwinder Singh and Kamalpreet Singh, all residents of Moga, arrested by Tarn Taran police, were brought before the court yesterday, which sent them to five-day pre-trial detention. The police investigation revealed that they worked as couriers.

Although police officials are quiet about the investigation into the case, it has been learned that police are trying to identify those who recovered the explosives near the international border.

“The explosives were dumped somewhere in the Bhikhiwind subdivision from where the three had collected them on the instructions of Arshdeep Dhalla, based in Canada,” Tarn Taran SSP Opinderjit Ghuman said while adding that the shipment had been sneaked into Indian territory using drones. He said they had yet to get instructions on where and to whom to deliver the shipment.

Police teams from Tarn Taran stopped a car at a checkpoint near the village of Bhagwanpur in Bhikhiwind and arrested the trio yesterday.
