Honor Magic 3 launch date revealed
TL; DR
- Honor has just announced the official launch date for the Honor Magic 3 series: August 12, 2021.
- The invitation hints at a very large camera sensor.
- Honor previously hinted that a Magic series phone would have the Snapdragon 888 chipset, so we can expect it to be that phone.
Honor has already launched its first post-Huawei phones with Google apps on board: the Honor 50 series. However, those phones are mid-range with the Snapdragon 778G.
Today, however, we finally learned when we might see a premium flagship from Honor. The company sent out event invites on August 12, 2021, in which it specifically calls out the Honor Magic 3 series. It would be the first Magic phone since the Magic 2 of 2018.

The image included with the invitation is obviously a great camera sensor. It’s reasonable to assume that there will be some high-end camera gear included with the Honor Magic 3 phones.
The invitation does not give any other information about the phones. However, the company has previously hinted that it will release a Magic-branded device with “the most high-end Qualcomm chipset.” It could be nothing less than the Snapdragon 888 – or even the just-announced Snapdragon 888 Plus. With one of those under the hood and some premium camera gear, the Honor Magic 3 would be a real powerhouse.
We’ll have to wait until August 12 to know anything for sure, but this phone could be the comeback Honor needs after parting ways with Huawei.
