SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) – The top five business finalists have been chosen for GENIUS NY, a business acceleration program at Tech Garden from the CEO of CenterState. All of the finalists were determined to have the potential to help stimulate the local economy.

“It’s definitely a tough job market right now, but we’ve found that upstate New York has a fantastic employee pool, and we’ve been able to hire people recently by really trying to see our company’s vision and where we want to go with the corporate culture, ”said Ian Gauger, COO of Circle Optics.

Many of them are still looking for help. Joerg Schamuhn is the CEO of Airial Robotics, a German company that develops commercial drones for surveillance, logistics and agriculture. They are looking to hire electrical engineers, robotics engineers and assistant programmers. Others said they were looking for software developers, IT people, and engineers.

Part of what GENIUS NY is supposed to do is make sure these positions are filled.

The objective for these companies is to attract employees, but also to retain them in the region.

Beyond the award is the recognition and fundamental change of the UAS landscape, and doing it here in Syracuse and we depend on people, talented people and therefore to use these dollars to continue our hiring locally and expand our hand. -work would be the goal.
