ESL Pro League returns to Malta with partnership in 2024

ESL Gaming, part of the ESL FACEIT Group, and Malta’s Ministries of Economy, EU Funds and Lands, through GamingMalta Foundation, extend their partnership for the ESL Pro League until the end of season 20.

The expansion will see Malta be the home of the largest and oldest Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) league, with a total prize pool of $850,000 per season, bringing teams from the conference phase and the group phase on the Mediterranean island. .

ESL Gaming and GamingMalta have joined forces for the first time in 2020 to create opportunities at every level of the path from zero to hero offered by ESL Gaming’s esports ecosystems. This collaboration has established Malta as the birthplace of esports while helping ESL Gaming deliver exciting and top-quality ESL Pro League content and broadcasts for fans around the world, despite the challenges that the global pandemic has presented.

The extension deal runs until the end of 2024 and will focus on growing the local esports ecosystem with local tournaments and conferences, to provide aspiring players and teams in Malta with the opportunity to go pro.

Starting August 31, the ESL Pro League Season 16 group stage will see 15 Louvre partner teams and nine teams qualify via the ESL CS:GO Global Leaderboard or the ESL Pro League Conference Stage. meet in Malta to compete for one of the twelve places in the knockout phase, which will take place from September 27 to October 2.
