Goodbye passwords, forever. Microsoft has kept its promise to provide password-less access to its accounts. The new feature will roll out in the coming weeks and requires the Microsoft Authenticator app to work.

Microsoft’s password-less future makes sense. As everyone knows, passwords have to be complex to be secure enough. But complex passwords are difficult to remember, and remembering multiple passwords is an even greater challenge.

There are many password managers, including those from Google and Apple, that are there to solve the memorization problem. But these still don’t completely remove the password and require it when you can’t authenticate via FaceID, fingerprint, or PIN.

The new no-password option was announced by Microsoft in a blog post. The message also states that 579 password attacks occur every second, or 18 billion attacks in a year.

How do I remove my Microsoft account password?

Those who are interested in Microsoft’s new security feature can go and remove their account password. Instead, they can use the Microsoft Authenticator app, Windows Hello, a security key, or verify by a code sent to your phone.

Here’s how to remove your Microsoft account password:

  • Download the Microsoft Authenticator app and sign in with your account
  • Sign in to your Microsoft account
  • Go to settings
  • Go to advanced security options
  • Access additional security options
  • Enable account setting without password
  • Follow the instructions and approve the notification from the Authenticator app

Note that this feature will be rolled out in the coming weeks, so it may not yet be present in your Microsoft account settings. You can also enable two-step authentication in the settings for more secure access. If you change your mind about using the feature without a password, you can always turn it off and go back to the old school.

The boys footballers of Terre Haute Nord Nicola Baiguini and Esteban Tera Santos come from the world of football. Baiguni, from Italy, and Santos, from Spain, come from nations that eat, drink and breathe sport 24/7.

As foreign students, they came to a country that is starting to love football, but the sport is not woven into the fabric of everyday life like it is in Europe.

So far, however, both Patriots seem to be enjoying their American adventure – and they’re getting the job done on the pitch as well.

The two players each have three goals, behind Mason Meeks-Johnson’s total of seven goals for the Patriots team leader. Baiguini plays in the No.10 playmaker role and he has five assists, just behind Will Anders in total of six. Santos plays as a striker.

Baiguini is probably closer to the archetype of the European player who has played his entire life. He is from Lovere, Lombardy in northern Italy, and he played for local club, Alto Sebino. Football is his first love.

“I have been playing football since I was a kid, it’s my favorite sport. There is a big difference between here and there. I think here they are more fit for the physical form to run. Italy is more a question of technique, a big difference, but I liked it here, ”said Baiguini.

Santos, meanwhile, has a background in soccer, but it’s not his main sport. The Madrid native prefers a sport you can’t play in high school in Indiana.

“I don’t play soccer [in Spain], I play water polo. I played football for six years when I was little and I switched to water polo, it’s the sport I love the most. I grew up playing football, I love playing this sport and I could play it here, ”Santos said.

Proving his interest in water polo, when asked which club he supports in Madrid, he did not name Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid world-famous, he named his water polo club, IARA Antamira.

Aside from the culture shock of flying off to a foreign country, there is the same shock of seeing how the structure of sport works differently on each continent.

Here we have a disconnected ladder system. Traditionally, players of all sports have progressed from middle school, high school, college and pros and they drop where their skill level demands. Over the past quarter century, club sports have added an element, but for the most part, most children still record their athletic progress based on their place in the school pecking order until they are finished. ‘they have the chance to go pro.

In Europe (and South America) it’s completely different, it’s more of an internal scale system. There is no school sport at all. Players of all sports join clubs at beginner age, many local clubs like our high schools are here, and move up the ranks internally through their clubs. The most successful clubs have levels ranging from the youngest stage of development to the highest professional level.

“All the sports here are inside the school. In Italy? Everything is outside the school,” Baiguini said.

World famous footballer Lionel Messi, for example, joined his local club in Argentina at the age of 6 before moving to his future professional club Barcelona at the age of 14.

Where North Boys coach Tony Guevara saw the difference was in Baiguini’s approach to dealing with setbacks on the pitch.

“In my coaching I’ve always tried to start with constructive criticism and end with something positive, but Nicola got my attention a bit,” said Guevara.

“In Bloomington South he had a good shot, but he missed it. I told him it was a good shot and he said, ‘No it wasn’t. I should have done it. “I was like, ‘yes it was.’ After the game he said he didn’t want to be disrespectful, but the way he coached abroad the coaches are on him. Abroad they only get praise for the good things they do. I feel like we’re more rocked. We must be brought up and we don’t take criticism very well. It’s different for him, “said Guevara.

The same dynamic also works in interpersonal relationships between players.

“Nicola is very smart and reads the pitch very well. He will come and tell me that the players should do this or that. At first he would show the guys, call them sometimes. He didn’t do it to be mean, that is. is the culture he was raised in. I told him that’s not how it works here, it’s the coach who does that. He apologized for the way he acted, but he didn’t do anything wrong, that’s the culture he grew up in. The boys respect him for that, “Guevara said.

North’s second-year midfielder Jack Butwin agreed with Guevara’s assessment.

“They fit in perfectly. Their style of play is different, but it works very well. They have a lot of self-confidence. The way Nicola can place the ball is amazing. He can put it anywhere he wants,” said Butwin. .

Baiguini and Santos were asked about the difference they noticed. There have been things on the pitch, but what both said they liked was the off-pitch aspect where their classmates can be more directly involved in their athletic journey.

“We play fast, but here they want to play faster than us, but you have to adapt,” Santos said. “With the school and the friends involved, it surprised me in a good way.”

Baiguini and Santos are no doubt hoping that their American adventure will be crowned with a fun playoff race in October.

We’re proud to feature on this month’s cover Matt Anderson, Zionsville resident and three-time US men’s volleyball Olympian. Anderson, an opposite / away hitter, made his third Olympic Games appearance in Tokyo, Japan last month.

The United States men fell to Argentina on Sunday, August 1, 2021 in the quarterfinals of the Tokyo Olympics, finishing 2-3. Obviously, this is not the finish the team worked for, but nonetheless, their nation and their supporters are immensely proud of their accomplishments, their dedication to the sport and to represent the United States so honorably.

We spoke with Anderson about his career and what it takes, in his own words, to get to the Olympics, not once but thrice.

The path to becoming an Olympian

Anderson was born in Buffalo, New York, and raised in West Seneca. He graduated from West Seneca High School in 2005 and attended Pennsylvania State University.

Anderson left college after his freshman year to play professionally with the Hyundai Capital Skywalkers in Korea. He also played professionally in Russia and Italy. At 25, Anderson was the youngest player on the United States Men’s Olympic Volleyball team in 2021.

“I played a lot of sports growing up,” said Anderson. “When a family friend suggested that I try volleyball it was something I really liked, so I kept playing. I was told I was good, but if I wanted to improve I would have to start playing travel [volleyball]. My parents raised some money, and I started playing travel and got a little better in high school. Then I tried other high performance American stuff and also did a one year training camp. When I made the national youth team, I started getting recruited by colleges.

Asked about his decision to leave Penn State to go pro, Anderson replied, “I realized that professionals [volleyball] was the next step for me, and if I wanted to potentially become an Olympian, playing pro was what I had to do. So I made this decision after discussing with my varsity coach and my family what it would take. Could I handle being away from my family in another country for eight months, and did I understand what it really means to be a professional athlete? It turned out not, but I quickly learned.

Anderson was only 21 when he started his professional volleyball career.

“The doors kept opening, and I kept going through them,” Anderson reflected. “It was wild and fun and really hard work, but the joy I got from it was incredible.”

The life of a professional athlete abroad

After playing in South Korea and Italy, Anderson went to Russia to play professional volleyball for seven years. He reflected on what it was like to be a young American athlete in Russia.

“At first it was really tough,” Anderson said. “I think the Russians – in general – are a bit closed, culturally. My teammates have a lot more international experience, so they’re not that closed, but getting accepted into the squad was difficult at first. One of the things I’m proud of the way I behave as an athlete is my work ethic. I just put my head down and worked hard. It took them about a year and a half to welcome me with open arms and not have this skepticism about me. I have grown a lot in those seven years, both as an individual and as a player. The guys I played with were there for this part of my trip, and some will be lifelong friends.

Realize the dream of playing the Olympic Games

Anderson graciously shared some of his thoughts on the three Olympic experiences and how he has evolved over the years as an athlete and as a young man at the peak of his career.

“My first appearance at the Olympics was in 2012,” said Anderson. “I was the youngest on the team there in London, and I was a starter. It was an amazing experience, and I was really happy to be there and excited to compete. The second [Olympic appearance] was in Rio.

When asked how this experience was different from his experience in London, Anderson said: “A lot of different. The team was made up of a lot of different players, a lot younger. I went from being a youngster to being a bit more veteran and more experienced player. I was 29, which is a very good age for athletes in our profession. You still have a lot of youth in your body, but you have more experience. We played against Russia for bronze.

Anderson continued, “In the end it was a great experience. We came away with a medal, which a lot of people cannot say as Olympians. We were very grateful for the experience.

Playing in the middle of a pandemic

In his previous Olympic appearances, Anderson had the support of his family, in person. This year’s Olympics did not allow fans and their families to attend. To add to this disappointment, Anderson got married and had a son since his last Olympic run, and it was difficult for him to be separated from them.

“The hardest thing for me was just the distance and knowing that I wasn’t going to see them all this time,” Anderson said. “FaceTime is great, but the physical contact and being in the same room is huge for me and my family. It was bad, clear and simple. But for the sporting and competitive part, I didn’t necessarily have a bad experience without fans – I was able to keep a cool head and be calm throughout, but it didn’t have the full feel of the Olympics without fans and because of all the restrictions. But again, I’m just grateful for the experience.

Anderson shared his disappointment at not having fully achieved their goals in Tokyo, but stressed that he was not yet finished.

Matt Anderson

“I can rest easy knowing I have no regrets in training,” said Anderson. “Now the execution and how it all turned out is going to be a tough pill to swallow. Our team, when we’re all healthy, is a really tough team to stop. I am really sad that the result was not what we wanted, but I am grateful for the whole trip and will try again.

Rooted in Zionsville, Indiana

Anderson’s wife, Jacquelyn (Jackie), grew up in Indianapolis, and when the couple decided it was time to find a property and settle their property “forever,” the couple found six acres of which they immediately fell in love located in Zionsville and got married on the property.

“We came across this house [and property], and I was like, ‘We don’t have to look any further.’ it was really great [living here], and downtown is a great place. It reminds me a lot of my hometown in New York.

Anderson joked, “I’m still a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan and still hold a season pass.”

Images of the GoPro Hero 10 Black were leaked yesterday, giving us a first look at images of the device as well as specs. WinFuture, a German publication that previously leaked information about the redesigned Hero 9 Black in August of last year, was also behind the latest leak. A report on the website suggests that the Hero 10 Black resembles its predecessor (Hero 9 Black) in terms of size, design, and external accessibility features. The only design difference so far can be seen in the blue accents that spell out “10 Black”.

The main hardware changes we’re seeing are improvements in processing power with the new GP2 processor and an improved image sensor that goes from 20 megapixels to 23 megapixels. The Hero 10 Black is also expected to support 5.3K video recording at a smooth 60fps (fps), 4K video at 120fps, and 2.7K video at 240fps. The latter can help you create high resolution slow motion clips. This is a huge improvement over previous models which only supported 5K recording at 30 fps and 4K recording at 60 fps.

WinFuture

Marketing materials seen by WinFuture suggest that Hero 10 Black’s camera software stabilization will be enhanced to provide “gimbal-like stabilization” after being upgraded to HyperSmooth 4.0 and TimeWarp 3.0 for time-lapse video. Users can also take advantage of an automatic download feature to transfer files online at a much faster speed. The Hero 10 Black also supports 1080p live streaming, like the previous models. Finally, the Hero 10 Black would offer a 10-meter-deep casing, touchscreen controls and voice accessibility. Users can also access webcam mode with SuperPhoto and HDR options. These features combined with the enhanced recording capability have the potential to be a game-changer for streamers and on-location photographers.

The company hasn’t made an official announcement, so we don’t know how much the Hero 10 Black would cost. The previous edition, Hero 9 Black was released at $ 450 and is currently priced at $ 400 (excluding subscription), so we can expect a number around that range, perhaps a little higher. Given the scale of recent leaks, the Hero 10 Black launch may be imminent.

Big stories after the United States’ roster announced Thursday for the opening of World Cup qualifying included the team’s three teenage players. Ricardo Pepi attracted a lot of attention because he made the decision to play for the United States internationally. Gio reyna was also important because he was great to start the Bundesliga season for Borussia Dortmund.

Then 19 years ago George bello, Atlanta United left-back who at one point was one of the most promising players in his U-17 cycle, but struggled with injuries and later under Frank de Boer with Atlanta.

Bello signed his first professional contract, a local contract, with Atlanta Untied in 2017 at the age of 15. He made his first-team debut the following year late in the season during the club’s famous winning campaign under Aunt martino.

Part of starting a professional career at such a young age is that you can struggle, bounce back, and pick up your pace right from the start. This is indeed the case for Bello, who had a good season in 2021.

It hasn’t been easy for Atlanta United to succeed this season, either. The club struggled under the new manager Gabriel Heinze – who was quickly sacked in mid-season. After the Gold Cup, the club started to take off and the squad took off – Bello playing an important role alongside a new designated player. Luiz Araujo, defenseman of the United States national team Miles robinson, and the continuous improvement of Josef martinez in his return from an ACL injury.

Bello, for his part, continually impressed no matter the situation. In addition to the Atlanta roller coaster, Bello was also called up to the United States national team for the 2021 Gold Cup. While he often played behind Sam Vines in that tournament, Bello started the final against Mexico, coached by his former Atlanta coach Martino, and played in the second half of a 1-0 victory.

Since returning from the Gold Cup to Atlanta, Bello has continued to play with a high level of confidence while showing impressive skill, as evidenced by his back heel assist in a 3-2 victory over Columbus on August 7. The victory sparked a four-game winning streak in Atlanta this weekend when it hosts Nashville SC. The recent streak has put Atlanta back into the playoff image.

‘He was good again,’ Atlanta United interim coach Rob valentino declared this month after the victory over Columbus. “I think he brought energy and common sense to a tactical side of the Gold Cup. It comes from being surrounded by good coaches, good players.”

Considering the level he plays, it was easy to see why the American coach Gregg Berhalter selected Bello for World Cup qualifiers. With six center-backs on the roster, Berhalter looks likely to use a 3-4-3 formation, which would push the full-backs forward in midfield and provide wide attacking quality.

It plays on Bello’s strengths and Berhalter was quick to highlight Bello’s strengths as a player and bright future after naming him to the squad.

“It was a difficult decision between Sam [Vines] and George, ”Berhalter explained. “In one respect, we felt Sam’s situation with his club [transfer from Colorado Rapids to Royal Antwerp] and the missing time in the preseason may perhaps delay it.

“But we also liked George’s performance at the Gold Cup. We like his mentality. We like his tenacity. He’s a very young player and it will be interesting to see how he can react to these games, what it means to play away from Concacaf, and for him to see what it’s all about.

“We believe George is an integral part of the future,” added Berhalter. “It’s a great opportunity to get him involved now. “

Born in Abuja, Nigeria, Bello moved to the United States when he was only 1 year old. His father, an amateur player, instilled in George a love of football when he was very young. He admired players like Neymar and Lionel messi but also developed a love for the left rear position and frequently watched videos on David Alaba and Marcelo to learn the post.

When he joined Atlanta, however, the club recognized his enormous talent but also the work that needed to be done to help him get there.

“For George, he’s one of those players with the ‘X factor’,” said the former Atlanta United academy manager. Tony Annan in 2018. “For me, he’s a special player who has all the pieces. We have to polish and educate him to make him a smarter player. But he’s one of the most exciting hopes in the United States. United, in my opinion. “

That hard work in his development has paid off and that once raw prospect is now someone who is a daily starter for Atlanta as well as a Gold Cup champion who is now ready to help the United States qualify for the 2022 World Cup.

The young American talent of that time was confronted early on with the dilemma: to go abroad or become pro with MLS. A few years ago, when signing his first professional contract, Bello thought that Atlanta United was the best solution.

“Personally, and mostly because it’s my hometown,” Bello said of signing with Atlanta United in 2017. “But also, because MLS is a great place to start for young players because it’s is an excellent place to put your feet on the ground, used to playing, to make yourself known, until the moment when maybe a European team wants you.

When you look at where he is now for club and country, it’s clear the decision to start at Atlanta was correct. He was able to play with quality players and often in front of massive crowds often exceeding 60,000 people. Now he is helping the team find their way back to victory.

Perhaps more importantly, he’s still on a path that will help him reach his ceiling. Earlier in the season, he explained better why he is still a player full of promise and potential.

“I am far from where I can be,” he said.

When you look at what he has done this year, it’s an impressive statement.

After a season where WSU finished 1-3 in the Pac-12 North, a “regular” 12-game schedule for the Pac-12 is about to begin in a few days.

The Pac-12 are looking to compete with powerful conferences like the ACC, SEC and the Big 12 this year and are trying to secure a college football playoff bid for the first time since 2016.

But with a new season on the horizon, how do the Pac-12 teams stack up ahead of the season? We will take a look.

1. No.11 Oregon

Being the presumed favorites to win the conference most years, including this year, the Ducks are currently the Pac-12’s best chance for deep college football playoff success. Led by the two-back tandem of junior backers CJ Verdell and Travis Dye, the running game is going to be scary for opposing defenses, with Dye and Verdell named as the Pac-12’s best two-back combo.

The question is how the Ducks will replace former quarterback Tyler Shough, who transferred out of Oregon in the offseason. They have Boston College transfer senior quarterback Anthony Brown as an alleged starter ahead of week one. But anything could happen before their first match.

Game 1: 11 a.m. Sept. 4 vs. Fresno State

2. No. 15 Southern California

Oregon being the favorite of the North, Southern California is the favorite of the South. The Trojans start out ranked # 15 in the pre-season AP poll. USC still has junior quarterback Kedon Slovis under center paired with a receiving core from junior wide wide receiver Drake London and red-shirted second-year wide receiver Tahj Washington, who transferred from Memphis. The backfield has Texas transfer senior running back Keaontay Ingram who will be the leader in this stacked attack. USC has a lot of help in the secondary, with senior security Isaiah Pola-Mao being the biggest name in that defense. It could be a rematch of last year’s Pac-12 Championship if USC can have more consistency in their games.

Game 1: 2:00 p.m. Sept. 4 vs. San Jose State

3. No. 20 Washington

The Pac-12 North in defense Champions start third in the Pac-12 this season, looking to be in contention again with Oregon for the North Division and in contention for a New Years Eve six-bowl game. The Huskies are led under center by redshirt sophomore Dylan Morris. But with the transfer of Colorado State graduates quarterback Patrick O’Brien, the Huskies will have full competition to see who gets under center this fall.

They also have first-year quarterback Sam Huard, who is the nephew of former NFL quarterback Brock Huard. Behind the quarterfinals competition is another tandem of two full-backs of senior running backs Kamari Pleasant and Sean McGrew, who are also known to turn heads. This Washington team will turn heads as the season progresses.

Game 1: 5 p.m. Sept. 4 vs. Montana

4. # 24 Utah

First of all, rest in peace Ty Jordan. The Utes got a major acquisition this offseason by securing the transfer of Baylor, senior quarterback Charlie Brewer. He led Baylor to an 11-game winning season in the 2019-20 season which was a bit short in the Sugar Bowl against Georgia.

Utah secured another key transfer from Oklahoma, senior wide receiver Theo Howard. Most of this team’s questions revolve around high school, but with an offensive boost Utah could definitely challenge USC in the South Division.

Game 1: 4:30 p.m. Sept. 2 vs. Weber State

5. Arizona State No. 25

Arizona State sits at the bottom of the AP poll at No. 25, but sits just five in my power ranking. The Sun Devils have their junior quarterback Jayden Daniels, who makes comparisons to NFL quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson, and some see the similarities between him and former Utah quarterback Tyler Huntley. Led by head coach Herm Edwards, the defense received a big boost as they grabbed transfer from USC graduates cornerback Jack Jones. Arizona State will float low in the Top 25 for most of the season and be in the middle portion of the Pac-12 standings.

Game 1: 7:30 p.m. Sept. 2 vs. Southern Utah

6. UCLA

The biggest question at the helm of UCLA is their head coach, Chip Kelly, and whether or not he can do it. The Bruins still have senior quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson as a starter. He is also compared to Lamar Jackson for his ability to escape from the pocket and be mobile while composing and throwing the ball.

UCLA also picked up the transfer from Texas A&M, second-year wide receiver in red shirt Kam Brown. On the defensive side of the ball, they also acquired the transfer of Notre Dame graduates linebacker Jordan Genmark Heath. UCLA will consistently be in the middle of the Pac-12 this season unless Kelly can save that team.

First games: 12:30 p.m. Saturday vs. Hawaii and 5:30 p.m. Sept. 4 vs. 16th LSU

7. Stanford

The Cardinal, like the Bruins, will be an intermediate team this year. Their biggest question mark is how they’re going to replace former quarterback Davis Mills, who was in the NFL Draft this offseason. With a defense that saw a lot of time last year, Stanford’s defense will be able to withstand attacks from the opposing side. But can the offense produce?

The quarterback competition consists of senior Jack West, second student Tanner McKee, sixth-year transfer Isaiah Sanders and first-year Ari Patu. The offense still has senior wide receiver Michael Wilson. If Stanford can find a star quarterback, Stanford could be dangerous.

Game 1: 9 a.m. Sept. 4 at Kansas State

8. California

The Golden Bears haven’t had the best 2020 season, but they can only consider the 2021 season after going 1-3 in the shortened season. California still has red-shirted senior quarterback Chase Garbers under center, and as a key part of that offense is passing play, an experienced quarterback comes as no surprise to the Golden Bears.

Senior wide receiver Nikko Remigio will be the number one target for Garbers this year. Because it is the offense, the racing game will be in question for California. The defense will look to carry this team, with red-shirted senior linebacker Kuony Deng in the lead, trying to break the tackling record set by former California linebacker Evan Weaver.

Game 1: 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4 vs. Nevada

9. Colorado

The Buffaloes turned a lot of heads last season, competing for the Pac-12 South Division title last year. But a lot of offensive questions stop any positive messages coming from Colorado. After former quarterback Steven Montez decided to go pro, the alleged starter is now transfer from Tennessee, sophomore quarterback JT Shrout, who doesn’t have the best experience as a starter.

The offense will always come through running back Jarek Broussard, who passed junior running back Alex Fontenot last season after an exceptional season on the pitch. With relatively strong defense, but no receiver core, this team’s ceiling is pretty limited on offense.

Game 1: 6 p.m. Sept. 3 vs. Northern Colorado

10. Washington State

The Cougars have had a ton of off-season news with Laura’s sophomore quarterback Jayden making headlines, as well as acquiring transfer from Tennessee graduates quarterback Jarrett Guarantano. The coming season for the Cougars will be one for the history books. WSU has a two-back tandem among senior running backs Max Borghi and transfer graduate Deon McIntosh, the Pac-12’s best one-two combo. However, with the quarterback battle in question, head coach Nick Rolovich is left wondering who the starter will be heading into in week one.

On the defensive end of the ball, the Cougars will rely on sixth-year linebacker Jahad Woods and senior cornerback Jaylen Watson. The Cougars are on thin ice this season with quarterback questions and a secondary that needs to improve.

Game 1: 8 p.m. Sept. 4 vs. Utah State

11. State of Oregon

The Beavers must now replace Jermar Jefferson in the backfield. With the transfer of Colorado graduates quarterback Sam Noyer, the question arises as to whether this offense can more happen without their main contributor. The team will pass through junior tight end Teagan Quitoriano, who will be the main wide receiver on this attack. The defense doesn’t look promising either, so the cap for this team is pretty low.

Game 1: 4 p.m. Sept. 4 at Purdue

12. Arizona

A team still trying to find their identity within college football, the Wildcats will look to prove their worth now under the guidance of first-year head coach Jedd Fisch who will face this team. There is a quarterback competition between WSU transfer, red shirt freshman Gunner Cruz, freshman Will Plummer, and South Florida transfer, sophomore Jordan McCloud. Arizona has a bright future, but no immediate success is in sight this year.

Game 1: 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4 vs. BYU

Baylor University was represented at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 with six former Bears participating in multiple events for three different countries. Wil London and KC Lightfoot made their Olympic debuts, joining returning Olympians Brittney Griner and Trayvon Bromell to compete for the USA team. Ekpe Udoh made his Olympic debut for the Nigerian men’s basketball team while John Peers returned to the Olympics to represent Australia in men’s tennis. But no matter what country they represent at the Olympics, Peers said deep down they’re still Baylor Bears.

“No matter how far away you are or how long you are part of the family, you are still a Baylor Bear for life,” Peers said in an interview with Baylor Bear Insider. “This is probably the most important thing people don’t understand about the Baylor community.”

London was in the pool for the mixed 4x400m relay, and although they ultimately did not make the event, the team won bronze. Bromell was widely favored to win both of his events, but ultimately did not make the final after placing third in a men’s 100m semi-final. Bromell went on to take part in the men’s 4x100m relay and placed sixth in his heat after a disappointing performance.

Lightfoot, who decided to go pro last season on the track to focus on training for the Olympics saw his hard work pay off as he finished tied for fourth in the men’s pole vault. Brittney Griner helped the U.S. women’s basketball team continue to dominate the Olympics after accumulating 30 points in her gold medal match against Japan, which saw her claim a 90- 75, as well as his seventh consecutive Olympic gold medal in this event. After asking for barbecue sauce to go with her 30 pieces, Griner explained why it’s so important for her to show up and give her everything in these times and for these games.

“We could easily not show up to some chosen and chosen (camps, tournaments),” Griner said. “But all the women who came before me who are here now, every time the USAB calls, we are there. We spend time and effort on it. We have mothers on this team; that’s a lot they leave at home. But we always prioritize American basketball.

After shocking the world with their exhibition victory over Team USA, Udoh and the Nigerian basketball team were unable to keep up the momentum at the Olympics, losing all three games. of the group stage. The peers competed in both the men’s and mixed doubles for Australia, winning a bronze medal in the latter with teammate Ashleigh Barty.

While not all Baylor athletes won gold at this year’s Olympics, they have proven themselves to be some of the best athletes in the world. Baylor track head coach Michael Ford says that’s what’s really important.

“It’s one of the things we are talking about is making our student-athletes reach the highest level, and the highest level is the Olympics and the world championships,” said Ford. . “So when we have athletes like KC Lightfoot, Trayvon Bromell, Wil London, just on our recent to make the Olympic team, it’s a huge honor because they represent the United States but they also represent the Baylor University. “
