I’m still on one camera on my iPhone XR and don’t need anything else. This especially applies to 99% of garbage phones that have fake token cameras bolted to the back just so they can boast X number of cameras. With a camera, I just take out my phone and take pictures. How do you capture moments without spending 5 minutes picking the right one? It’s useless. Sure, there’s that small percentage of where the ultrawide would be useful or a telephoto lens with 15x zoom, but I’ll survive. And so would most users. It’s just a natural progression of things that even Apple eventually decides to adopt feature X or Y. Apple is in no rush to push so many fancy features to their users and then forget about them like phone makers do Android in desperation to sell you something new every year…

In fact, the iPhone 4 was one of the most popular and iconic iPhones ever made… They repurposed its flat-sided design so much for the iPhone 12 Number 13 is also considered “unlucky”. “In many places, the iPhone 13 exists though. I don’t think Apple cares much about superstition.

This problem is the lingo, and Apple is certainly to blame here. Their main reason for introducing the second telephoto lens on the iPhone 7 Plus was to enable portrait photography. But they kept saying the word “zoom”. Well, it was obvious that there was little benefit to 2x or 3x zooming outside of portrait-focused photos.
I maintain that Apple hasn’t really gotten to grips with proper zoom yet, and all of their telephoto efforts have mostly been geared more towards getting better portraits.
Hopefully they eventually adopt a Samsung-style solution and offer both a “portrait” style telephoto lens as well as a proper “zoom” telephoto lens.
Although knowing this site won’t stop people from complaining about Apple anyway, nothing ever will 🤷

What’s the excuse for not including the periscope camera in the upcoming iPhone 14 series? It is simply unacceptable. The year is 2022 and Apple still hasn’t introduced a periscope in their LMAO phones and I usually defend Apple because most of the hate they get is undeserved, but that??? Absolutely indefensible. Bruh, the Huawei P30 Pro from 2019 had a periscope camera and it was crazy. Today, the technology has improved even further! But Apple is stuck with mediocre 3x zoom. HAHA! Having owned several phones with periscope cameras – Huawei P40 Pro, S21U and now my current Pixel 6 Pro – I will NEVER buy a phone without one. Never. So thank you but no thank you Apple. 3x is no longer enough. Sorry!
