Poor Halloween. This feels a bit eclipsed this year. Half the internet seems to think it’s already happened. Retailers are launching “Black Friday†deals in October, which… well. At least there are a lot of deals going on. With shipping delays and supply chain issues piling up, perhaps we should be thankful that we don’t have to wait for bargain prices. Here’s our weekly roundup of the best deals on the best products.

Special offer for Gear readers: get a One year subscription to WIRED for $ 5 ($ 25 off). This includes unlimited access to WIRED.com and our print magazine (if you like). Subscriptions help fund the work we do every day.

Deals on tablets and phones

Apple iPad Pro

It’s not a huge discount, but if you’re in the market for a new iPad Pro, you can save $ 100 this weekend. The device is a beast. Check out our full review (8/10, WIRED recommends) for all the details on the new display and the powerful M1 chip.

The OnePlus 9 Pro (8/10, WIRED recommends) has a great camera system and it’s super fast. It enjoys good battery life and recharges both by wire and wirelessly. It doesn’t work on AT&T, but otherwise it’s a good deal on a top-tier solid phone.

It’s the lowest price we’ve seen on this phone this year. Motorola’s Moto G series has long been one of our favorite phones for the money. The G Power is affordable and offers decent performance; the downside is its lackluster camera and the fact that it will never be updated beyond Android 11.

The Lenovo Tab P11 Plus has a bright and crisp 2K OLED display and a great design. It doesn’t cost a fortune and has good battery life. Using Android on a tablet just isn’t a great experience, but if you can live with it, it’s a solid device.

TV and home offers

TCL Series 6 TV

So many TV sales are already underway that we’ve put together a comprehensive guide to the best Early Black Friday TV deals. Read it if you missed it earlier this week.

The TCL 6 Series (9/10, WIRED recommends) has been our favorite TV for most people for several years in a row. This 2020 model has a mini LED backlight for better black levels and a very usable Android TV interface. This agreement is also available at Walmart.

Samsung’s 75-inch QN90A (8/10, WIRED recommended) offers beautiful reflections and excellent contrast, thanks to mini LED technology (that’s what the new iPad uses). You also get variable refresh rate support for gaming, with up to 120Hz at 4K for the latest consoles.

The Ultra is Roku’s fastest and most powerful player. It has extras like dual band Wi-Fi, voice search, and an Ethernet port for more stable connections. There’s also a headphone jack on the remote so you can watch TV shows privately while others are asleep. Check out our Roku guide to see which model is best for your needs.

Laptop & Accessories Deals

Acer swift 3

Acer’s Swift 3 is a solid midrange laptop. It has plenty of horsepower for your average workload (editing documents, browsing the web, etc.), and at this price, it’s one of the most budget-friendly laptops out there. Check out our guide to cheap laptops for more budget options.

Samsung’s T5 series SSDs make good backup drives. At 540 megabytes per second, they’re fast enough that backing up a large disk won’t take forever, but the price is still reasonable. I wouldn’t try to edit a video from them (see next pick for this), but they’re good for backups.

These players are fast enough to be used as storage devices for any HD video you want to edit. I regularly edit 4K footage from this precise device, and it’s pretty fast. For more portable SSD options, see our guide to portable storage devices.

We haven’t tested this particular model, but range extenders are one of our favorite ways to improve home internet speeds.

Gaming & Audio Deals

The Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild

Breath of the wild abandons the linear story of most Zelda games, instead offering a world of hidden secrets that you can tackle on your own terms. It’s Zelda with less grip and more fun.

The Sony WH-1000XM4s are the best wireless headphones. They are comfortable, offer a 30-hour battery life and feature the best noise-canceling technology on the market. This is such a great deal, we’ve written a whole article on it if you want more details.
